DOPPLER ULTRASOUND OF … LOWER LIMB (DVT)

DEEP VEINS:

•	Common femoral, superficial and popliteal veins are normal in caliber.
•	Echogenic clots is seen in common femoral, superficial femoral and popliteal veins. It seen extending into the proximal portion of anterior and posterior tibial vein.
•	No echogenic clot seen in deep femoral vein.
•	Proximally the external iliac and common iliac vessels are obscured by bowel gases, IVS show normal color flow and is patent.
•	Veins show normal augmentation on compression of calf and thigh.
•	Few prominent superficial veins of less than 5mm are noted extending from medical aspect of ankle up to knee. No other significant varicosities or collateral circulation noted.
•	Sapheno-popliteal junction are incompetent, show reversal of flow on valsalva maneuver. The junction are dilated.
•	Short saphenous vein is dilated throughout it course measuring 6-9mm in maximum diameter.
•	Few enlarged inguinal lymph nodes noted with preserved hilum largest measures 15x5mm.
